Fees

Let us help guide you into your family’s past.

Research Fees

·        $275 for the Basic Package which will include 10 hours of analysis, planning, research, and reporting. Time is divided amongst these areas in approximately equal portions.

·         Free initial consultation

·         $25 an hour for additional research.

·         The cost of microfilm rental and copies, photocopies, photographs, vital records fees, parking fees and postage.

·         Travel outside of Johnson County, Kansas @ 44.5 cent per mile, based on standard Kansas Department of Transportation mileage between cities.

·         Copies for the researcher’s files for future references.

 

The first payment 50% of the fee will be due with the signed contract.  All documents and information you currently have relating to your research goal will also be provided to C&J Genealogical Service at that time. This will include copies of original and compiled sources. The names and dates can be included on a GEDCOM file. This is important so that previous research isn’t repeated.

 

Record Look up Fees

For those that need a specific record researched & copied the follows rate applies.

·         $30 per research hour.

·         Travel outside of Johnson County, Kansas at the standard Kansas Department of Transportation mileage between cities as stated above.

·         The cost of microfilm rental and copies, photocopies, photographs, vital records fees, parking fees and postage.

·         Copies for the researcher’s files for future references.

 

Consultation Services

·        Initial consultation is free for any package.

·        $25 per hour either over the phone or in person within the Kansas City metro area.  I will soon be able to provide this service through a web cam.

 

Photographic Fees

·         $10 per hour travel time

·         Mileage charged at the standard Kansas Department of Transportation mileage between cities, as stated above.

·         $2 will be charge per digital image and one printed copy combination.

 

Speaking Fees

This is negotiable, based on the subject and location. The sponsoring group pays for publicity, conference fees, syllabus and/or handouts, travel expenses & lodging if out of the Kansas City area.

When retaining a professional you are paying for our time and experience.  Through our knowledge and experience in research methods and techniques we are able to locate and analyze information that relates to your request in an efficient manner. A report that outlines our research and findings will be prepared. We can not guarantee our results but all effects will be used to fulfill the request as efficiently as possible.
